First of all: our apologies! We do most of our newsworthy updating via social media, not our website. As a result, we’re way behind. To catch you up on some of our more significant MOU-related activities this year, we have posted the photo above from our March trip to Guangzhou in support of the largest-ever delegation of Canadian students, teachers, and administrators to visit China under the province-to-province MOU-relationship between Alberta and Guangdong. The delegation was honoured to be welcomed to South China by the Canadian Consulate.
Pictured are teachers and administrators from Wolf Creek Public Schools, senior staff from AQG Education, Consul General Rachael Bedlington, and PIE President Duncan MacLeod. For more information on this historic exchange trip, check out this article from the Lacombe Globe.
Since then, there has been more MOU-related activity for WCPS. PIE was involved in two welcome events for groups of Chinese students arriving to Alberta for programs in WCPS schools: a summer program in July for students from Liwan Education Bureau and a fall program in September for students from Dongfengdong Road Primary School. Another program is scheduled for November, once again from Liwan Education Bureau.
